2016 Election; Road to the crown, country, I mean country

I will be writing one (1) political post during the entire 2016 election season so please refer to this any time in the next 17 months you find yourself asking ‘I wonder what Tanna thinks?’… and without further delay, here is it:

HOLY SHIT! It’s only been a week since the first presidential hopeful officially threw their hat in the ring and while that field is growing slowly, the social media fighting and friend deleting is at an all-time high: Facebook (1) – Your Friend list (-1 and counting)

I get it, ‘We the People’ are passionate about our sports, beer & country; we will chant for all three until we are hoarse and without hesitation ‘United We Stand’ in unity when strength is needed regardless of how we are registered to vote or what the tacky bumper sticker on our car says.

That’s true patriotism and I agree there is no better feeling then when our party walks away with the win; somehow we feel like a contributing part of the victory from in front of our TV’s and we gain self-appointed bragging rights until the dust settles. However, win or lose our undying love for our nation never diminishes and that’s fabulous because we know there is absolutely no place like it in the world and I for one couldn’t be prouder to be American.

Yet at the same time, if any voter actually believes that there is a single politician (Democratic, Republican or Independent alike) that cares about you, your family or your bank account personally and isn’t running for office solely on their own agenda these days without a multi-million dollar donation from you to their campaign, you are as bat shit crazy as our political system has become.

And seriously people this isn’t even the super bowl, it’s only the Presidency; you know the corporate position with blatant nepotism that once every four years holds an election to rotate family members. So until that job selection is voted on more like the Miss America Pageant which, with all its faults, still gives us a choice of 53 potential candidates and therefore a much larger pool of individuals to choose from with views that actually may represent us individually and our reflection of what we truly believe rather than settling, RELAX, we have over a year and half, plus at least two more Magic Mike films to come out, until the big day, pace yourself and your delete button, you may accidentally be removing your only ride to the polls!
